Hygge and your 15 minute pause
What is hygge?
Hygge (say “hoo-gah”) is the Danish word for creating moments that feel cosy, relaxed and connected. For me, it’s about the simple things: a quiet cup of tea, a favourite book, watching the sea or a walk in nature.

What is a 15 minute hygge moment?
It’s a small pocket of time, just for you, to pause and enjoy something that makes you feel good. You don’t need a whole afternoon. Fifteen minutes with a coffee, a few pages of a book, sitting in the garden or watching the sunset is enough.
There’s no right or wrong way to do it. Your 15 minutes can be whatever you need them to be.

Who is Collette Costello for?
For busy women who deserve a pause. If you’re juggling home, family and work, and you can’t remember the last time you did something just for you, this is for you.
I’ve been there too. You can read how I found my way back in How I Found My Way Back to Myself Through Hygge: The Power of a 15-Minute Pause.
I’m too busy. How do I find 15 minutes?
Start small. Make your tea and drink it sitting down. Light a candle while you get ready. Leave your phone in another room for a quarter of an hour. Once it becomes a little daily habit, you’ll be surprised how much you look forward to it.

About Collette Costello
Who is Collette Costello?
Hi, I’m Collette. A few years ago I was struggling to juggle home, kids and work, and I felt I’d lost a part of myself. So I started giving myself just 15 minutes a day to do something for my wellbeing: yoga, a book, a quiet coffee or walking the dog. Then I discovered the Danes have a word for it: hygge.
Now I want to help other busy women reconnect with themselves and find their hygge. Read more about me.
